About Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates may be practiced on an exercise mat or using specialized Studio Equipment of the Trapeze Table, Reformer, Chair, Ladder barrel and Spine Corrector. There are also numerous small props and accessories which may be used to either help or challenge the particular movements.

Pilates may be practiced as a form of exercise by itself or incorporated into other exercise modalities and sports to improve performance, strength, flexibility and coordination.

Studies have shown that Pilates has excellent benefits for improving posture and core strength to help conditions such as back pain.
